Background
Dr. Aaron Hayes is the person at Dentix who makes sure the ground is solid before anything gets built. Implants don't fail because of the screw — they fail because of the tissue around it. His job is to make sure that never happens.
He completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, followed by a three-year periodontal residency at the University of Maryland, where he focused on soft tissue grafting, regenerative procedures, and the management of peri-implant disease. His training bridges the gap between surgical and restorative dentistry, giving him a unique perspective on how gum health directly affects long-term implant success.
At Dentix, he evaluates every implant candidate's gum and bone condition before treatment begins. For patients with gum recession, tissue loss, or active periodontal disease, he performs the necessary grafting and stabilization work before any implant is placed. After placement, he manages the long-term health of the tissue surrounding each implant — which is the single biggest factor in whether an implant lasts five years or twenty-five. He also leads the clinic's hygiene protocols and preventive care programs.
