Background
Dr. Emily Carter is the person at Dentix who decides what your smile will actually look like. As the clinic's prosthodontist and aesthetic lead, she is responsible for everything that sits on top of the implant — crowns, bridges, veneers, and full-arch prosthetics — as well as standalone cosmetic work like smile design and porcelain restorations.
She completed her Doctor of Dental Medicine at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, followed by a three-year prosthodontic residency at the University of Southern California, where she specialized in complex aesthetic rehabilitation and digital smile design workflows. She is trained in both traditional wax-up techniques and fully digital prosthetic planning using CAD/CAM systems.
At Dentix, she works backwards from the desired outcome. Before any implant is placed or any tooth is prepared, she maps the final prosthetic result using digital smile design — which means the surgical team knows exactly where to position every implant to achieve the aesthetic goal. Patients often meet with her first, see a digital preview of their finished smile, and then move into treatment with complete clarity on what the end result will be. She is meticulous, detail-obsessed, and the reason Dentix restorations look like natural teeth.
